This is a slight crossover with Jurassic WorldSummary:
Sam and Jack convincing Dean to take a vacation on an island full of dinosaurs maybe wasn't the best idea.
"This was supposed to be a vacation!" Dean shouted ahead to where Sam and Jack were running in front of him there was no way that Dean would let them be behind him out of sight.
As he jumped over a fallen bench Dean once again wondered how he let himself be talked into this.
No that was a lie he knew how he had been talked into this it had been the combined powers of Sam and Jack's puppy dog eyes.
Really by now, he would think that by now he would have built up an immunity to said look having grown up with Sam but now that he had taught Jack that looks and the boy had mastered it so quickly it, it was no wonder that he caves.
"Think about it Dean when was the last time that he really went on a vacation? After everything we have gone through these past few years we deserve a small break." Sam reasoned with his brother. Breaking out the puppy dog eyes, he wasn't afraid to use them against his brother he knew Dean could never say no to them.
"I wish to go to a water park," Jack spoke up from his spot by the couch where he was surrounded by brochures reminding Dean just how young he really was. "Can we Dean?"
Excitement shone in his eyes and he reminded Dean so much of Sam when he was that age. Jack was so innocent and the last thing he wanted was for him to lose that innocence, for the life of a hunter to rob him of it.
Like it had Sam.
Sam would argue with him that he made the choice to come with him that night he showed back up at his apartment and stay in this life.
Letting out a sigh Dean knew that he was beaten, "Alright where do the two of you want to go?"
"Well there..." Sam started and Dean already knew that he wasn't going to like what Sam had to say when he started like that, "Is this new island I was thinking we could check out."
And here he was on vacation at a suppose Dinosaur island, he would believe it when he saw it.
"How the hell did you even hear about this place?" Dean asked as he looked up at the towering gates.
"I researched it of course," Sam spoke up from where he was keeping his eyes on Jack making sure that he didn't wander off the young man was bouncing with pure excitement that Sam didn't want him to run off and get lost.
Dean shook his head he could hear the wonder in Sam's voice. 'I should have brought leashes for the two of them.' Dean thought as he realized he was going to have to keep a close eye on both of them.
It took a moment a moment for Dean to realize that Sam was still talking. "And then they figured out a way to clone dinosaurs! Isn't that amazing Dean?" Sam's eyes shone in a way Dean hadn't seen in a long time pure happiness.
It was on the tip of Dean's tongue to say something sarcastic but he couldn't. "Yeah, it is Sammy. So where do you want to start first?"
Try as he might Dean couldn't ignore the feeling in his gut that this was going to end badly. 'Haven't these people saw any movies? Cloning or creating something always ends up badly.'
"Let's go look at the baby dinosaurs start off small," Sam suggested he knew his brother had his doubts about this place and so did he but this was Jack's first vacation and the first one that he and Dean had since they were young he wanted it to be special.
Jack's face lit up at the suggestion ever since Sam told them where they were going Jack had been non-stop researching dinosaurs. "Can we?" Jack looked between the two men with hope shining in his eyes.
"Yeah kid let's go look at the baby dinosaurs." Dean figured they couldn't get into too much trouble. "You never know I might find myself a lady." Dean wiggled his eyebrows up and down.
Sam could only shake his head that sounded more like his brother.
There was nothing but pure joy in Jack's eyes as he played with the baby triceratops. "Sam, Dean, look isn't it cute?"
"If he asks for one as a pet you are the one who gets to tell him no," Dean warned Sam he could already see the puppy dog eyes coming as Jack asked for a pet dinosaur.
"He might just have to settle for a puppy instead." Sam counteracted.
A small smile and a shake of his head Dean should have known that Sam would twist this into them getting a dog. "You and your damn dog and now there are two of you asking the same thing." Dean was strong but sooner than later he had a feeling he was going to cave into the two of them. "Damn puppy eyes," Dean muttered under his breath.
Sam offered him a serene smile and turned his attention back to Jack who was clearly having the time of his life.
"Woah, hey go away." Dean shooed at the baby ankylosaurus that had come to nibble at his pant leg. "Go play with the kid who wants to play with you."
But nothing Dean did to shoo away the dinosaur from him the dinosaur refused to move he had picked his playmate and it was Dean.
Dean shot Sam a glare, "Don't you dare take any pictures," as he climbed into the baby dinosaur pen area the baby ankylosaurus let out a happy sound. "Well get your butt in here. I ain't making a fool of myself alone." Dean ordered Sam.
Sam didn't need to be told twice after all who could resist in playing with baby dinosaurs.
"The kid is out like a light," Dean informed Sam before he fell face first on his bed, that was one thing he had to give this place credit for was the amazing hotel rooms. Dean was grateful for the fact that they had managed to get a suite he doesn't think that Sam could stand the idea of Jack being too far away and not that he wouldn't say it out loud neither could he.
Sam smiled at the sound of Dean's muffled voice as he watched his brother sink deeper into his bed. This is what they needed a break from everything, from Lucifer's return to the other world. This was nice just the three of them acting like they were a normal family without the weight of the world on their shoulders and Sam knew despite Dean's grumblings he was having fun.
Of course, with the Winchester luck, everything went to hell on the third day of their vacation. It started out normal enough Sam and Jack were deciding what they wanted to do when Dean had a feeling that something was wrong.
"We need to move now!" Dean growled grabbing both Sam and Jack by the arms seconds later the sound of sirens went off moments before the sky filled with flying dinosaurs heading straight for them.
Dean making sure that Sam and Jack were in front of him at all times.
"I really wish I had my gun." Dean grumbled under his breath as he shoved Sam and Jack under a table as one of those flying birds dove at them. "I am going to deep fry you bastards the moment I can!" Dean shouted up at them.
They needed to find shelter and they needed to find it fast.
"There!" Sam shouted pulling Jack and trusting Dean to follow as he lead them into a story just before the door was slammed shut behind them.
"Can they get in here?" Jack ask wondering if he should use his power to keep them out.
The store owner a kindly old lady smiled at Jack, "Do not fear young man these stores were built to keep us safe." She reassured everyone.
"This is the last time that you get to plan a vacation, especially one that has dinosaurs that can do this," Dean informed Sam as the sound of a might roar filled the air.
Dean will admit that he was a little bummed that he got to miss the battle between a Tyrannosaurus and some weird hybrid.
